AWARD WINNING DRAMA

During his prolific career as a 1stAD Marco has successfully overseen a huge range of HETV projects like the Emmy award winning 'Game of Thrones' the largest scale TV show ever produced, which set a new feature film quality drama standard in television.
In the world of feature films he has worked on genres spanning Sci-Fi, Fantasy, War, Period/Historical, Horror & Action-Adventure.
He has also worked on smaller projects from commercials to shorts films like the Oscar nominated short 'Cashback'.

Marco has a consistent track record of successfully managing & delivering projects on schedule, while ensuring to cater to the priorities and vision of the creatives. He brings vast knowledge & experience to the pre-production stage, excelling at creating robust & accurate schedules, with an incredible breadth of oversight, attention to detail, and a level of meticulous planning that is hard to match.

Marco runs a calm and focused floor, engendering a strong work ethic and promoting a culture of professionalism and mutual respect. Always friendly and approachable, Marco helps to create a shared sense of purpose through collaborative effort and a motivating work environment. He remains totally unflappable under pressure, maintaining his composure and a positive attitude even in the most challenging circumstances.

SAFETY FIRST

Marco is a 1stAD who takes his health & safety responsibilities very seriously. He is extensively trained in H&S, and regularly updates his knowledge with refresher courses and reading safety bulletins. He is proactive in contributing his expertise to the development, management and effective communication of the production H&S controls. He holds both DGA & UK safety passports (CSATTF, BBC, HSE, BECTU, OSHA).

THE FILMMAKER

Marco's has a wealth of filmmaking know-how, and is often employed as both 1stAD and a Co-producer. He is especially adroit at the planning of major action sequences, ensuring seamless integration between SFX, VFX & MUFX teams. He has experience as a 2nd Unit Director, working with SAG & Equity contracts, helicopters, large crowd scenes, drones, underwater work, boat work, process trailers, OSVP, horses, period battles & more.
Marco enjoys good working relationships with many US Studios, Indie companies & Completion guarantors.

INTERNATIONAL FILMING

Marco specialises is shooting overseas with large multilingual cast and crews. He has filmed drama projects in Hungary, UK, Czechia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Slovenia, Malta, Luxembourg, Austria, RO Ireland & N Ireland.
Marco himself is a Budapest local hire and a dual national, holding both Italian & UK passports.

EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Marco was born in 1975 into a large Italian-English immigrant family. Growing up as a child, he took particular inspiration from his two uncles who made brilliant Super 8 movies. In this way cinema became his passion, a place where dreams can come to life. He started his career as a set PA, before working his way up through the AD ranks to Key 2ndAD, before finally transitioning to 1stAD for the last 25 years.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Marco enjoys running, cross fit and Chinese martial arts which all help to give him high energy and focus on long shoot days.
To relax, he likes spending time with family, listening to Jazz, playing chess, reading classical philosophy, vacationing in Italy and road trips.
Movies of course are a big passion, everything from Italian horror to 70's Hong Kong martial arts cinema.
Most of all Marco likes meeting good friends for good espresso!
